- Early morning wake-up for radio check with Field Base and porridge - mmm...
- Off down to the work site for an 8am start and wait to see if the carpenters are there today, to get cracking on continuing to build the Kindergarten.
- After work, the group have been taking it in turns to teach English to the kids, and later to the adults, in the village.
- At 4pm it's sports time in the village, with the choice of badminton or football.
- The evenings are full of experimenting with our food rations to make the best dessert, followed by at least one game of Mafia.
- The various other things Alpha 1 are up to include cooking and Malay lessons with the villagers, and visiting the oil palm plantations.
- By the end of this phase, Alpha 1 hope to have completed laying down the floorboards in the Kindergarten and made a start on the roof.
Selamat datang!

Hi Will (Evans),
Can't believe I missed your call! Neil and I were having a coffee in Cafe Nero after dropping Oscar off at his revision course (first day)...it's a bank holiday. My phone rang just a minute after I said to Neil that when I get a text message I often think it's from Will...hope weird. My phone only rang once and didn't show a missed or received call and then a few minutes later I got your voice message which was a bit broken. Think you were asking about your iPod. I posted an iPod shuffle last Thursday to you and hope it arrives safely before you go. Oscar downloaded your top 300 songs on it and full charged it. Neil and I both rang back the number of the ;phone you used and left 2 messages. So sorry I missed your call. Impressed you remembered my number. We have such awful mobile reception at home. If you have time to write let me know what foods you want when you get home. Miss you and love you loads, Mom xoxoxoox
Hi Lolly

Good luck with your next phase, can't beleive you are on the last and we still havn't found you a home to come back to. maybe you will have to stay out there a bit longer? Good news for me I have got funding for my work at school at least until end summer term so ye hah. Danielle said that you sound all grown up on the phone, I hope you havn't changed too much in this 8 weeks. Make sure you get some more maleria tabs quick dont want you getting sick when you should be scuba diving, you will miss the best bit of the trip.

Hi Ed (Alpha 1) Dick!!
Long time no write - always so busy!
All well here, with few tourists around and weather variable which doesn't help!
Graziella is now home, clinically well but very depressed so we are all trying our best to help her back up the ladder.
Nothing to report, we all jog on!
Thining of you and hope to see you back in the summer...
All our love
